DevOps 101 for Product Management – how it can empower you!

DevOps is a bit of a buzzword at the moment in the product world. But what does it really mean? And should you care are a product manager?

My take is that it is power powerful and empowering. It should enable you. Imagine being able to run A/B tests with ease. Imagine having the data on how those tests ran at your finger tips without fighting to have it.

Imagine having feature flags you can use to enable/disable capabilities easily to a portion of your user base. Imagine that you can deliver to a customer when the business timing is right, not constrained by long, laborious and error-prone stack updates with downtime for customers. If that all sounds like something you want, then DevOps is something that can help you!

In the post that I did on this on a partner site, we did the write-up of what DevOps is, but instead, here I’m going to point you at a great video by an expert that will explain it far better. Check it out below.

Also thanks for great support from Rael Winters and Ed Pearson at DevOpsGroup in writing the original post.
